Membership of the Western Equestrian Society brings many benefits at a very reasonable cost.
Here at WES we cater for all levels of riders, and ALL breeds of horses ALL over the UK. We truly believe in the values of friendly family like support that we can give our members through our extensive regional network of WES Area Representatives.
By joining WES, you’ll instantly become part of this network and have access to local and regional events such as shows, clinics, training, advice and other fun events. Members will also receive a quarterly magazine giving you all the news from all the regions.
PLEASE NOTE: Membership does not include any insurance coverage for you or your horse, (public liability/third party, personal accident or any other type of insurance). It is the member’s responsibility to obtain their own insurance, particularly public liability/third party cover, to be eligible to attend any WES riding events. For clarity, the WES insurance policy only covers people operating for and on behalf of the society, e.g. those organising and helping at events.
For professional riders, coaches and trainers, membership of WES will also offer you the chance to be included on our instructors list, WES recognizes Western training qualifications and each year checks all insurance, and first aid documents.

Amateur or Open Status?
Please note that when completing your form, you will be asked whether you have received payment during the last three years or training either horses or riders. This is to determine whether or not you qualify as an Amateur. If you HAVE received payment, you will be granted an Open Membership, and will be unable to be registered as an Amateur Rider. When you receive your membership number if it begins with an “A” this denotes Amateur status.
